Special Ruffle Shorts ふりふりショートパンツ

I love fabrics very much but I had tried not to purchase new fabrics for a while since I didn't want to be buried in avalanches of fabrics in my work room.

じぶんの部屋で今にも布の雪崩に巻きこまれそうで、

しばらく大好きな布買いをガマンしていたわたしですが。

But as you see, I gained my collection during holidays in New Zealand!

ご覧のとおり、休暇に訪れたニュージーランドで、あらたなコレクションをふやしちゃいました。

I was curious how the craft shop in New Zealand like but didn't expect I would be able to find one in town.

But my friend's mom living there kindly found time to take me to a big craft store.

ニュージーランドの手芸店ってどんななのか、興味があったけど、街中でみつけるなんてムリと思ってた。

でも現地に住む友達のお母さんが親切に時間を作ってくれて、大きな手芸店に連れて行ってくれました。

The top floral one is very exceptional.

The name of flower is Pohutukawa in Maori language, which relates to my daughter's name in a way.

いちばん上の赤い花の生地はとても特別なもの。

マオリ語でポフトゥカワという、ある意味でむすめの名前に関係がある花です。

The fabric was too expensive (more than NZ$20 per meter!) and I can't afford to buy it though, it turned to a lovely gift to my daughter from my friend's mom!

わたしには高価すぎて(1m22ニュージーランドドル以上だった!)手が届かなかったのだけど、友達のママからむすめへプレゼントって！

First of all, I could not envision what kind of clothe I should make with such a special fabric.

One day my daughter suggested me,

"Mom, sew me a skirt which has shorts inside."

She said she loved wearing skirts but would like to cover when she run and climbed a jungle gym at the same time.

この特別な生地、どんな服に仕立てようか、さいしょはよい考えが湧かなかったのだけど、

ある日むすめから「ショートパンツがくっついたスカートをつくって」と提案。

彼女いわく、スカートを履きたいのだけど、走ったりジャングルジムで遊ぶとき見えちゃうから…とのこと。

So I made ... それで作ったのは

TWO RUFFLES ２枚のフリフリ

TA-DA! IT LOOKS LIKE A RUFFLE SKIRTS BUT IT IS HIDING...

じゃんっ！

フリフリスカートに見えますが、中には…

SHORTS INSIDE!

ショートパンツが隠れてる。

(あわせたのはCheck&Stripe社のフレンチフライスのスモークグリーン。

色が渋くてむすめのお気にあまり召さなかったので、ポンポンとリボンのアクセントでなるべくガーリーテイストに近づけるという苦肉の策です。

着てしまえばトップスに隠れて見えない部分なんだけどね)

DIY ニトリのパイプイスをリニューアル

One day, I found an old pipe stool in our storage room.

So I breathed a new life into it!

わが家の物置き部屋のスミで、古いパイプいすをみつけました。

ニトリで10年前以上に買われたもの。

リメイクで新しく生まれ変わらせてみた♪

あ、左手前がちょっとイビツだ。。。

I made rough patterns from its actual shape and cut 4 parts out from a rosy corduroy fabric.

When on the earth did I calculate circumference of the circle last?!

More than 2 decades ago I bet!

実物からザックリと型紙を作り、バラ柄のシャツコール地から4つのパーツを裁断しました。

いったい最後にいつ円周なんて計算したかなぁ？２０年前以上のはず！

It's perfect for using up my stock of wool which I could not nothing to do with after making a Woldorf doll as my daughter's two-year-old birthday present.

I still can make couple of cushions with rest of them though...

むすめの２歳の誕生日プレゼントにウォルドルフ人形を作って以来、どうにもできなかった羊毛の消費にもなったよ。

まだまだ２、３個（いや、もっと）クッション作れるぐらい残っているけど…

Ta-da!

Sweet Gardenで乙女ギャザースリーブ

むすめ用に新しいワンピースを縫いました。

だいすきな布屋さん・mocamochaさんから出ている

だいすきなSweet Gardenという生地で。

色はむすめのチョイスです。

パターンはraraneneさんの乙女ギャザースリーブ１２０サイズ。

デフォより丈を５cmほど縮めました。

短めの方が学校にも着ていきやすいしね。

。

袖のプックリ感がポイントのワンピース。

ちょっと肉厚なスムースニットなのでドレープもいい感じに出てくれます♪

バスト下の切りかえ線のおかげで、スタイルもよくみえる〜

モデル　身長１２０cmです。

Thank god I have a dearest daughter for whom I can sew outfits.
Yes, they both are amazingly therapeutic!

くる日もくる日も　深刻で悲しいニュースが伝えられてくる。
なぜだか言えあらわせないんだけど、鬱々としちゃう。
没頭できる趣味があってよかった。
そう、ハンドメイド！
洋服を縫ってあげられる娘がいてよかった。
そう、どちらもかなりの癒し効果！

I made a pair of quilted fabric pants for my daughter this weekend.
Pattern is by muni. I think it is one of the most popular and famous patterns among kids' clothes sewing lovers in Japan.
The reason is not only its beautiful silhouette but also it is free!

この週末はキルト生地で娘にズボンを作りました。
パターンはmuniさん。
たぶん子ども服を縫うハンドメイダーさんの中ではかなり有名で人気のあるパターンだと思う。
そのワケはその美しいシルエットだけでなく、 無料ということ！

Applied a stretch lace on the hem.

裾は折らずにストレッチレースをたたいて。

キルト布はわたしのネックウォーマーを作ったのと同じ、

slowboatさんのピッサキルト、エストレア柄。

ストレッチレースはmahoe anelaさんで購入したものでこれまた

おきにいり 〜。

I added 2 pockets in front.

アレンジして前にポケットを２つつけました。

I am so happy to hear my daughter says

Sweet 'n Kiwite Snap! 〜スィートでキウィートな着画！〜

Here is an apron skirt which I showed off at " My last work in 2014, Apron Skirt " last week.

先週「2014年最後の作品、エプロンスカート」の日記にのせたこのスカート。

They flew to the other part of the earth by air, traveled to the Southern Hemisphere, and then I have just received this Sweet and Kiwite (Cute) snap from there.

はるばる飛行機で、地球のぐるっと裏のほう、南半球へ旅をし、

こんなスィートでキウィート（Kiwi +Cute）な着画がおくられてきて、うーー悶絶っ！

ズルいくらいかわいいモデルちゃんたち。

In my less sun light room, I could not photograph these skirts properly. But now look!

Shining green grass under the bright sun lends even more charm to these orange skirts.

New challenge last year and this year~Sewing~

Along with my sewing journey, I tried sewing the smallest dress in my life last year.
進みゆくわたしのソーイング道の中で、去年うまれてはじめての小ささのドレス縫いに挑戦しました。

See?
It is too small enough to make me have a half mind to throw in the towel.
I have found that sewing smaller things is more time consuming than it looks.
But who wares this tiny dress??!!
ね？
途中で投げだしたくなる気にさせるほど小さいの。
小さいものを縫うのって、見た目よりもっと手間がかかるって実感しました。
でも、だれがこの小さなドレスを着るの？

This dress went to 10cm tall size "Petite Blythe" doll.
このドレスは１０cmサイズのプチブライス人形にいきました。

Sew a hair accessory and a knit cape too.
Ta-da! Thumbelina (Hans Christian Andersen story) was done!
I feel like my efforts were rewarded! Phewwww
ヘアアクセサリーとニットのケープも縫ったよ。
じゃーん、親指姫（アンデルセンの童話）のできあーがりー
努力が報われたようなきぶんがした。ふ〜

I am considering to open a small shop and share my handmade clothes for dolls at Etsy this year because there are lots of fans of this Blythe doll all over the world.

このブライス人形のファンって世界中にいるから、今年はEtsy（ハンドメイド品フリーマケットサイト）で人形用の服屋さんをしたいと考えているよ。

We will see.
